NEVADA COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN'S CLUB

Community Citizens who are interested in listening to diverse points of view, please join us Saturday, February 4, 2023 9:30 AM at the Helling Library Community Room 980 Helling Way, Nevada City for THE CONVERSATION — Individuals with different viewpoints take the time to understand each other's ideas about issues facing Nevada County. GOLD COUNTRY KIWANIS

Gold Country Kiwanis is preparing for some major events in the next couple of months. On April 29th they will be hosting their Annual World Tai Chi and Fitness Day and on May 6th their Health/safety & Fire Preparedness Carnival. In July they will be hosting the Annual Children's Festival. They are looking for volunteers that can assist with these community events. At their February 9th meeting Gail Cirata, Kiwanis Lt. Governor, will be the speaker. On February 23rd, the speaker will be Al Schafer on the topic of Shriners Hospital. AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN (AAUW)

In addition to our commitment to AAUW Nevada County Branch's mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research, we provide educational and enrichment opportunities for our members through 11 Interest Groups. The following groups meet once a month: American Mahjong, Arts and Crafts, Fiction Book discussion, Non-fiction Book discussion, Gardening, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Dining Together, Hiking, Great Decisions foreign policy discussion, Watercolor, and Writing. GOLD COUNTRY CAL BEARS

Our monthly Luncheon and Director's Meeting will be held at the Asian Gardens Restaurant in Grass Valley on February 21; on Zoom by request. We'll be confirming our 2023 Events Schedule and invite your ideas. For 30 years, the Mission of our Gold Country Cal Alumni Association has been to award local scholarships to U.C students, to provide alumni networking, to encourage Cal spirit, and to provide opportunities for lifelong learning. We're inviting new members to join our GCCAA. Our activities are open to all who have been associated with our California University System, including allied campuses and those without CAA membership. GOLD COUNTRY SENIOR SERVICES

To meet the increasing need among seniors in our area, we offer Meals on Wheels. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, meal deliveries are made to clients' homes, along with a grocery food bag once a month. For those able to drive, we also offer a drive-through collection available the same days from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Nevada City Senior Apartments, 841 Old Tunnel Rd., Grass Valley. GOLD COUNTRY WELCOME CLUB

The Gold Country Welcome Club is a social group of local people who have just moved to Nevada

County as well as many who have lived here for years. What they have in common is they like to get out and try new things and meet new people. We are entirely volunteer driven and currently have hundreds of members in western Nevada County. Single and couples memberships are offered with annual dues of $12 per person which enable you to join any of the many Activity Groups that we have as well as attend our Special Events. GOLDEN EMPIRE SAMS RV CLUB

Are you one of the thousands of RV owners feeling guilty that you didn't get your RV on the road once in 2022? Are you telling yourselves that 2023 will be better ? Well we can help you. We are the Golden Empire Sams RV Club centered in the Northern Foothills around the Grass Valley/auburn area. We typically host 9 trips during the year March-november. You still have time to join us!
